When you arrive in Events Happening Now, you’ll find yourself landing on a platform, the ground covered in confetti & surrounded by 11 circular platforms that magically generate doors and information for events that are happening now. Sorted by start time of the event, the newest event to start will be the first you see then other events will be displayed clockwise on the platforms. If you arrive and no events are happening at the moment, there are 2 billboards setup for browsing. One displays the upcoming events and the other allows you to look back on past events. When you click on an event title, a panel with more details about the event is displayed next to it. Allowing viewers to see the event title, date and time, description, the host of the event, age range, as well as a category the event falls under. You can also teleport up to the lounge, where you can see a monthly calendar displayed, doors to other community resources, as well as a weekly display of recurring events submitted from some of the calendar’s first supporters.

There is also a kudos board setup for visitors to show their appreciation (thank you to everyone that has helped and contributed). This has been a passion project of mine since March 2022 – and with the help of Shards632, Hyperjoule and the creator community we are helping fill the gap to allow more people to experience the joy of immersive events dedicated to serving the whole community.
What makes this world special is the ability to add your event info on the website, and have it show up not only on the website calendar, but in the actual event world in Horizon Worlds. I update the calendar as new events are added – which has been daily since it’s launch. We’ve seen over 60 events added since the launch less than a month ago. We’ve also seen a 26% retention rate on the world in the first 2 weeks, with hundreds of visitors and over 3 full days spent in the world, which was only intended to be a starting point for visitors!
